How to make Cheese paratha

Paratha is a famous dish made for breakfast in India. There are many recipes of parathas, out of which “Aloo ka Paratha” is the most common yet most famous recipe. Other recipes of parathas are plain paratha or namkeen paratha, paneer ka paratha, Mooli ka paratha, Gobi ka paratha is yet another most likeable one, Loki ka paratha, cheese paratha and many more.

Paratha is a stomach filling dish, which is tasty and healthy too. The aromatic smell of ghee applied on parathas stimulates the appetite, whether it is made for breakfast for packed in lunch box for children, one can easily make out with the flavorful aroma which paratha is being prepared.

Often the paratha is cooked by applying ghee which make it tasty but counts on calories too. But eating it once in a while and that too in limited quantity will definitely fulfil the craving for having your favorite paratha.

So today I’m sharing the recipe of delicious “Cheese paratha”. This cheesy paratha is very tasty and liked by Children a lot. The cheese just melts while cooking and along with the spices tastes amazing. Like other recipes of paratha this recipe is very easy to prepare with few basic ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • Grated Processed cheese – 1 cup
  • Finely chopped onion – ½ cup
  • Chopped coriander leaves – ¼ cup
  • Chopped green chilli – 1 to 2
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder – ½ tsp
  • Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Ghee – for cooking
  • Whole wheat flour – 2 cups
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves – 1/4 cup

Method:

  • First step is to knead the dough. The dough should be kneaded tight to get a crispy layer of paratha. In a bowl take the flour, add ½ tsp of salt and 1 tbsp of ghee. Mix it properly with hand so that the ghee is mixed evenly with the flour. Ghee will make the paratha crispier. Knead the dough using water. Cover the dough and keep it aside.
  • In another bowl mix grated cheese, chopped green chilli, red chilli powder, coriander powder, chopped coriander leaves, chopped onion and garam masala powder. Mix properly. We are not adding salt as cheese already has sufficient salt to taste.

  • Our stuffing is ready.

  • Knead the dough for a minute.
  • Divide it into 4 to 6 parts.
  • Take one part and roll to a circle.
  • Place 2 tbsp of the stuffing in the center. Fold the paratha as shown in the pictures below.
  • Once the stuffing is covered press the dough lightly. The shape of the dough will be square and we will further roll the paratha in square shape only.

  • Roll again taking care that it is evenly rolled from all sides, especially on the corners. Roll to ½ cm thickness.

 

  • Cook the paratha on a flat tawa. Cook both the sides till golden brown by applying ghee.

Cheese Paratha

  • Serve hot with green chutney or pickle or tomato sauce.
